Who doesn’t love a big, bright, delicious, outdoor summer garden party?
This one was especially festive, as the menu stations allowed those of us at Jacquie’s Catering to be especially adventurous and creative!
For instance, what fun to have salads of Watermelon bites, goat cheese, mint and fig balsamic dressing!
And for a main course, why not head south for a little Tacqueria inspiration with Mojo Pork or Braised Short Ribs with papaya salsa, chipolte slaw and tomatillo salsa?
Of course, an Asian Fusion station is also popular, especially when they are equipped with our Asian boxes. Ours included Lemon Grass and Scallop Shumai with Asian Noodle Salad or Beef Satay with Peanut Sauce and a selection of Sushi Rolls. Why, we even had Asian Chicken Cigars to be dipped in Chili Dipping Sauce!
There’s nothing like a Pasta Station – everyone’s favorite – to create the noodle dish of your choice. Our station included Penne, Egg Noodles, even gluten free noodles with pesto and sundried tomatoes to Alfreda and Marinara Sauce – with a choice of toppings including bacon, onions, mushrooms or fresh spinach. Yumm!
For a light summery dessert, doesn’t a Shortcake Station filled with “make your own” fixings sound great? Ours included lemon curd, coconut shavings, fresh strawberries and peach compote on top of pound cake or scones in Mason Jars.
The result? A wonderfully festive and lively June event with equally delightful food choices. If you were among those involved, you left with a very happy stomach!
