Ashley and Nate chose the special date of Friday, February 24 for their intimate Indianapolis wedding reception at the Balmoral House, a stunning, 10,000-square-foot wedding and event center next to the Balmoral Golf Course in Fishers, Indiana, where we are listed as a preferred catering vendor. The afternoon reception started with waiter-passed hors d’oeuvres as guests arrived around 4:30 p.m., with dinner following shortly thereafter.
Station Meals: A Popular Wedding Trend
The bride and groom chose to serve the dinner portion of the meal in several stations, to give guests more variety within the menu. The stations have become a popular way to serve food at wedding receptions because they help to keep costs down, as well as to allow guests to have quick bites while enjoying the evening’s entertainment. Ashley and Nate chose some modern takes on classic and comfort dishes for their winter wedding, such as gourmet deviled eggs and mini mac and cheese dishes. The guests also enjoyed traditional wedding cake for dessert. The full wedding reception menu included:
HORS D'OEUVRES:
Individual Shrimp Cocktail in Shot Glass
Homemade Flatbread with Heirloom Cherry Tomatoes, Basil, and Burrata
Wild Mushroom Turnovers
STATION I
Trio of Local Organic Deviled Eggs (Beet, Cajun, Truffle)
Braised Boneless Beef Short Ribs with Garlic Mashed Potato
Individual Shaved Apple and Fennel Salad with Shaved Ricotta Insalata
The first dinner station included gourmet deviled eggs, braised short ribs and apple and fennel salad.
STATION II:
